As power industry professionals, GreenWing Energy’s management believes clean sources of dispatchable capacity are required to support renewable energy.  Replacing old, inefficient electricity generation with renewable electricity generation is a complex undertaking as renewable resources, such as wind, solar and run-of-river hydroelectric, are variable for the most part.  They also tend to be located long distances from where the energy is consumed. 

The cleanest, most efficient source of capacity is combustion turbine generation.  Combustion turbine generation has an additional environmental benefit – it can be located close to load centres to avoid the construction of long transmission lines. 

GreenWing Energy plans to meet the need for clean resources by developing a select portfolio of highly efficient combustion turbine cogeneration plants in addition to, and in support of, its renewable projects.  The company has a number of combustion turbine projects in early stages of development.
